3/30/14: As a former Marine who served in the The Marine Corps 1985-1988; my interest in Modern Wargaming is for the time period around when I served, say 1983-1991. The "What if" campaign setting that my modern collection is set around is that The United States starts its "War on Terror" earlier in history as a result of the Terrorist bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon in 1983. The US puts it full support behind the Lebanese President Amine Gemayel and are trying to establish a stable unified Lebanon and remove all Syrian and anti-western militias and terrorist organizations from the country. The US has major support from their Multi National Force comrade France as well as limited support from The United Kingdom. There are also of course Lebanese forces in support of the US. Opposing them are the various anti western militias and terrorist groups. These groups are then in turn supported by the Syrians who do not want to lose their influence over Lebanon. Not wanting to loose their only strong ally in the Middle East the Soviet Union intervenes on Syria's behalf with Airborne troops and Naval Infantry. Armored forces are also shipped into Syria by the USSR before all out conflict ensues. I also plan to do forces for Libya for a US invasion of that country due to its support for terrorism. These are all the forces that I either currently have painted or intend to paint in the near future. I have expanded my collection to include Iranians and Libyans with a few GCC countries to be done.
11/20/23: Well, I have finally reached the end of the road. On the Libya page under the "MORE" tab you will find my final Moderns miniature. Under Fixed Wing assets are pictures of my Libyan Mig-21. This is another Raiden Miniature from I-94 Enterprises. This miniature completes mt Moderns collection!
11/9/23: Happy Marine Corps Birthday Eve. I finished some more Moderns. I added a few more technicals for my Muslim Militia forces. The picture may be found on the Militias/Terrorists page under the "MORE" tab. These are GHQ miniatures. These complete my moderns ground forces. I'm now working on some more ships for ACTASF.
11/3/23: Another new Country! Under the "MORE" tab you will find my newest addition under the Oman page. Here is an aircraft that I have been enamored with since playing Gulf Strike! with my friend Scott Pankonin back in 1984. Here is an Omani Jaguar. This is a Heroics and Ros miniature. This completes Oman. I'm now working on some ships for ACTASF.
10/23/23: Kind of ironic that I would be posting a new mini for my moderns on the 40th anniversary of the eveny upon which the collection is based. I have completed a Mirage-5 for my Libyans. It may be found under the "Fixed Wing Assets" on the Liya page under the "MORE" tab. This is a Raiden Miniature from I-94 Enterprises. Now I'm working on some German He-111s for my WWII collection.
10/08/23: Its been quite awhile since I have done any Moderns. However, on the Soviet Union page under the Rotary Wing Assets section you will find pictures of a Soviet Naval Infantry Ka.27. While it may not see much table use as a Anti-sub helicopter, my Soviet Naval Infantry battalion would have a pair or so available for recon duties. This model is from Heroics and Ros. I'm sure that the rotor array is too tall, but unfortunately their models do not come with instructions for assembly so I was winging it. This completes my Soviets.
06/25/23: It's been almost a month since I completed any moderns. I have however just completed a T-62 battalion for my Libyans. They may be found under the "MORE" tab on the Libyan page. These are of course by GHQ and these complete my Libyan ground forces. I'm now working on some WWII Italian MC.202s.
5/31/23: To finish out the month, now that the Dulcote that I ordered has come in I have completed the Heavy Artillery Battaion, SCUD Launcher and Recon Company for my Libyans. Pictures are located on the Ground Forces section of my Libyan page under the "More" tab. All of these models are by GHQ Miniatures. I am now currently working on some WWII British aircraft.
5/14/23: Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there. Today for your consideration is another C-130 from Armamnets in Miniature. This one is done in Saudi Arabian markings. This model completes my Saudi Arabian forces and may be found under the "MORE" tab on the Saudi Arabian page. I have now started some core units for the ISC for ACTASF.
5/5/23: A little delayed due to rain all week; I have now completed a C-130 for my Libyans. It may be found on the Libya page under the "MORE" tab. See the Fixed Wing Assets section. This model is by Armaments in Miniature. I am now working on some more ISC ships for ACTASF. Destroyers.
04/21/23: New Russians done! My friend Mark Lurz printed me another Tu-22 off of Thingyverse and I had to do a Soviet one. It may be seen in the Fixed Wing Assets section of the USSR page under the "MORE" tab. Back to some more ISC ships.
04/09/23: Happy Easter everyone. I have completed my last Libyan helicopter. You will find my Libyan Mi-24 Hind under the "Rotarty Wing Assets" section of the Libyan page under the "MORE" tab. This is another nice GHQ model. Back to some more ISC ships for ACTASF.
04/02/23: Another plane done. This time a Saudi Arabian F-5. This may be found on the Saudi Arabia page under the "MORE" tab. This is once again another faboulus GHQ Miniature. I'm now finishing up some ISC ships for ACTASF.
3/18/23: I have completed more for my Libyans. Under the "MORE" tab on the Libya page under the Rotary Wing Assets section may be found a picture of the Mi-8 Hip that I have completed for them Once again this is a GHQ model.
3/12/23: Another week, another modern. I'v noe completed my second Saudi Arabian aircraft. This time an F-15. It may be found on the Saudi Arabia page under the "MORE" tab. I was suprised that all of the images that I located only showed aircraft with no national insignia and just the fin flashes. This is the fantastic miniature from GHQ Miniatures.
3/5/23: This has waited a week to be able to be dulcoted with all the snow. But no more! On the Libya tab, under the Fixed Wing Assets section you will find my Libyan Mitage F-1. The Libya tab may be found under the "More" drop down. This miniature is a Raiden Miniatures from I-94 Enterprises.
02/11/23: NEW YEAR! NEW MODERN! NEW COUNTRY! Under the "MORE" tab you will find pictures of my completed Saidi Arabian Lightning fighter. All of my Saudi moderns will be air assets only. This is a MSD Games miniature.
12/12/22: What will most likely be my last posting of anything for my moderns for 2022 I present a Libyan Mi-4 from Shapeways. Pictures can be found on the Libyan page under "Rotarty Wing Assets" under the "More" tab.
11/9/22: My good friend Mark Lurz printed me a Tu-22 from Thingyverse and I have done it as a Libyan Tu-22. It may be found on the Liby page from the "More" Tab under the Fixed Wing Assests Section. I'm now working on some Italian S.79s for my WWII aircraft.
11/6/22: Been a little while since I have gotten a modern done. However it's been worth the wait. A new counry! On the UAE page under the "More" tab will be found pictures of a United Arab Emerites Mirage V. This is another Raiden Miniature from I-94 Enterprises. This will complete the UAE.
10/16/22: Next up is a Lbyan SU-22. Obviosly, this can be seen on the Libyan page under the "More" tab, under Fixed Wing Assets. This model is by GHQ. I am now working on some WWII RAF Tomahawks.
10/2/22: Latest completion is a Mirage F-1 for my Kuwaitis. Pictures can be found on the Kuwait page under the "More" tab. Please see the Fixed Wing Assets section of the page. This model is by Raiden Miniatures from I-94 Enterprises. This completes my Kuwaitis. I am now working on some WWII German Ju-87s.
9/29/22: After some more humid days. I have finaly completed a Libyan Mig-23. I purchased this model from Noble Knight which often deals with second hand merchandise. The model is by GHQ and was described as new with scuffing to the blister pack. When the pack arrived it was packaged in one of the blister packs that is now used for their WWII items and included decals for the model in the package. When I did some digging on the internet, it would appear that this model was cast some time in the 1980s. I guess that then it is appropriate that it is being used as and painted up for my 1980s Libyans. Its picture may be found on the Libya page under the "More" tab, under Fixed Wing Assests. I am now working on some WWII Greek Avro Ansons.
9/21/22: Finally some less humid days have allowed me to dulcote a couple of projects. Under the Rotarty Wing Assets section of the Kuwait page you will find my Kuwaiti Puma. This model is by Heroics and Ros. I am now working on some Tante JUs for my WWII aircraft.
5/28/22: I have completed my Libyan SU-24. This is an MSD Games miniature. It may be found under the "More" tab on the Libyan page. I am now working on some British WWII Spitfires.
5/23/22: Over the weekend I completed my Kuwaiti A-4. This is a Raiden Miniature from I-94.
4/13/22: Nocked out a Mig-25 for my Libyans. It may be seen on the Libyan page under the "More" tab. This is an MSD Games miniature. I have now started an Ancient Welsh army for my DBA collection.
4/5/22: A new Country! I have done a Kuwaiti Allouette III. For Kuwait I will only have air assets. This is another GHQ miniature. I am now working on some more ACTASF miniatures.
4/2/22: My Libyan Alloutte III is done. It may be found on my Libyan page under the "More" tab, under Rotary Wing Assests. This is a GHQ model. I'm not one to usually have something negative to say about GHQ minis, however for a miniature that is only about 2 inches long tops, it seems a bit excessive to be an 8 part model; but I digress. Now I'm on to some ACTASF minis.
3/29/22 15:00 Update: Ok, last pictures for the day. Under the "More" tab under Ground Forces on the United Kingdom page you will find pictures of my British Infantry Battalion Transport and Recon Company. I can honestly say that I am tired of painting wheeled vehicles for now. These are all GHQ Miniatures. This completes my Modern British. I am currently working on a Libyan Allouette III.
3/29/22: Got some good painting in. Under the "more" tab on the United Kingdom page for Fixed Wing Assets you will find my completed Vulcan. This model is by MSD Games and is a great casting. For a 1/300 scale model it is HUGE! About 6 inches long and an equal wing span. It must weight close to a pound. This completes my Modern British Aircraft. I also have a RAF PRU Hurricane that is dullcoating and the rest of my Modern British ground vehicles are drying and waiting to be dullcoated. I have now started an Allouette III for my Libyans.
3/24/22: Completed the Super Frelon and a few more ground units for my Libyans. The Super Frelon is by Heroics and Ros. They do make nice helicopters. It may be found under Rotary Wing Assets on the Libyan page under the "More" tab. Also completed are my Libyan Infantry Battalion Transport. These are predomninately GHQ models with one CnC BTR-50. Also completed was a company of GHQ T-72s. These are also found on the Libyan page under the "More" tab, but under Ground Forces. The Libyans use a collection of different vehicles for their infantry so I did a company of OT-64s, 1 Co. of BMP1s and 1 Co. of BTR-50s with a GAZ-66 to carry the 120mm mortar team. I am now working on a PRU Spitfire for my WWII aircraft as well as ground vehicles for my modern British infantry.
3/21/22: A few more units have completed their basing. The "Command Center" and Artillery Battalion for my Libyans are now posted on the Libyan page under the "more" tab. Pleae see them under Ground Forces. These are GHQ models. There are a few more coming.
3/20/22: It's been awhile since I last posted, but not becuase I have been idle. It has been very humid lately so the delay in posting is mostly due to the need to dulcote completed items. In the mean time I have completed the following for my Libyans: An infantry battalion(which I will not be posting pictures of), a CH-46 flight, a rocket battalion and a SA-9 Anti-Air Battery. According to GHQ's TO&E the Libyans had CH-46s. Of interest I have only found pictures of Libyan CH-47s online so perhaps the GHQ information is incorrect. The CH-46s are by Heroics & Ros and are to be found on the Libyam page under the "More" tab under Rotary Wing Assets. Under ground forces are the Rocket Battalion and SA-9 Battery. These are GHQ models. I like that photo evidence of Libyan vehicles shows that some were retained in their Russian green paint scheme while others were camoflaged for the desert allowing me to mix vehicles.
2/28/22: Another one of the odds and ends that I completed for my Libyans was a FROG-7 launcher. It's picture of it may be found under the Ground Forces Section on my Libya page under the "More" tab. This is a Heroics & Ros model.
2/27/22: The odds and ends that I was doing for my Libyans includes an AT company that I have completed and the pictures of it may be found under the Ground Forces Section on my Libya page under the "More" tab. These are BRDM2s with AT-5 missles. These miniatures are by GHQ. I have no started some WWII Italian G.50 fighters.
2/24/22: C-130 rolling down the strip! Echo 2/6 gunna take a little trip! Stand up, buckle up and shuffle to the door. Jump right out and shout MARINE CORPS! If you know the words sing along. This all expenses trip provided by your rich uncle with travel arrangements by Her Majesties Royal Air Force. Under the "More" tab; United Kingdom page under Fixed Wing Assests, you will find pictures of my RAF Hercules. This model is by Armaments in Miniature. I am now working on some odds and ends for my Libyan ground forces.
2/20/22: 2nd Update. Pictures of my completed Libyan T-55 battalion have been posted. These can be seen on the new Libya page under the "More" tab. These are GHQ models. I have now started working on some WWII Greek Potez 63-11s.
2/20/22: My latest addition is a Mig-25 for my Syrians. Pictures are located on the Syrian page under the "More" tab, fixed wing section. This model is by MSD games. I think that the mold is starting to go on this one as some "fins"(?) on the bottom the the fuselage did not cast all the way and the engine nozzels in the rear needed a lot of work. My next project starts a new country. While waiting for the rest of my United Kingdom items to come in; I have started a T-55 battalion for Libya. The dulcote is drying on the T-55s at this time and they still require basing. Pictures to come soon.
2/7/22: After being hooked up by my friend Dave Winfree at I-94 Enterprises with the decals that I needed I have been able to complete my US Army OV-1 Mohawk. This is a Heroics & Ros miniature that came out far better than I thought that it would before the paint went on. Please find its pictures on the United States Army page through the drop down. What I find suprising is that outside of the Vietnam era, I found no images of this aircraft with national markings; on US Army. I've almost completed some WWII British Bostons and they should be up on my WWII page in a day or two.
1/17/22: I am updating the pictures for my RAF Flight. I have been told by one of my collueges across the pond that only the Army had tracked Rapiers, not the RAF. See the new pictures on the UK page under the Ground Forces Section. These miniatures are by Heroics & Ros. I love the launchers and crews. Also completed is an RAF Canberra. This model is by MSD Games and may be found under the Fixed Wing Assets section of the UK page. The UK page is located under the "More" tab. Still working on my Soviet IL-2s.
12/23/21: I have completed a RAF Buccaneer. Pictures are locared under the "More" tab, on the United Kingdom section under the Fixed Wing Assets. This model is by MSD Games. Tomorrow I might be able to post my redone RAF flight. I am now working on some 1/2400 Scale WWII Japanese Ships.
11/19/21: Now also Dulcoted is my Rotyal Artillery Battalion. These pictures may be seen on the United Kingdom page under the Ground Forces section. All to be found under the "More" drop down. 9/14/21: I've completed another British helicopter. Under the "More" tab on the United Kingdom page you will find a Gazelle by GHQ under the Rotary Wing Assets section.
8/29/21: Late Friday evening I completed an RAF Scout. I have not had time to post it until today. It's picture may be seen on the United Kingdom page under the "More" tab. Of course it is under the Rotartywig Assests section. This model is by Heroics and Ros.
8/27/21: I completed my first British ground units yesterday. On the United Kingdom page under the "More" tab you will find the pictures of my RAF Flight. These models are by GHQ.
8/23/21: Well I finally bit the bullet and purchased a 1/400 scale US C-5 off of Ebay. This is a die cast model by Gemini Macs. Pictures are on the United States Marine Corps page under the USAF section.

7/28/21: As I swap back and forth between WWII Aircraft and Moderns, I've completed a Seaking for my British. It may not be the most colorful paint scheme, but it is appropriate. The picture may befound on the United Kingdom page under the "More" tab. The model is by Heroics & Ros.
7/18/21: During the brief lull in rain and high humidity I completed a RAF Puma. Please see it under the United Kindom section under the "More" tab. The model is by Heroics and Ros.

7/3/21: The 158th anniversary of Pickett's Charge. Well, my Breguet 693s are done except for dulcoating, but it's been 90% humidity for the last week or so, so here are more pictures of my previously completed Iranians. All are by GHQ. See the Iranian section under the "more" tab.
6/29/21: More completed Iranian pictures are up on the Iranian page under the "More" tab. These are by GHQ.
6/27/21: I completed these in March and just never got around to posting the pictures. I have now added pictures for my Iranian Infantry Battalion vehicles. They are all by GHQ except for 1 single CnC. The Iranian section may be found under the "More" tab. As you can see from the pictures I tried two different shades. Not sure which I like better.
3/21/20: I've been able to start basing somemore of my completed Iranians. See the Iran Section under the "More" tab for myEngineer Company and FO vehicles. The BTR-152 and GAZ-66 are by GHQ. This will be my last moderns for awhile as funds are low and I have no more modern miniatures in house.
12/7/20: Today I was able to complete some CH-47's for my Iranians. These models are from GHQ and their pictures may be found under the Iran; Rotary Wing Assets section under the "more" tab.

6/20/20: Working on tying up loose ends before I go full force on the Iranians. I have put up pictures of my American M2 Mechanized Infantry Battalion under the United States Army tab. These models are by GHQ.
6/18/20: It took forever to get the color that I wanted for my Iranians, but now I have it and have started them. First pictures are of an artillery battalion. The M1978's are represented by a model of an M1989. The only difference between the two being that the M1989 is a little longer to carry 12 extra rounds of ammunition. At this scale does it matter? These models are by GHQ. Pictures are under Iran, under the more tab. The prototype are of North Korean manufacture. This is my first attempt at using a shade on Micro Armor. I don't think that it came out to bad. This is the shade that I use on my Civil War figures. I'd prefer a lighter one for the Micro Armor.
5/25/20: As I continue to paint up what I have laying around; I have added a United Kingdom Page and added pictures for Fixed Wing UK assets. The Tornado is by GHQ, the Jaguar is by Heroics & Ros and the Harriers are by Raiden.
